This document reports on mortality in Long Term Care Facilities (LTCF) across Europe plus USA, Canada, South Korea, Hong Kong and Israel, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the main aim of the document is focused on the differences among countries in counting COVID-19 related death in LTCF, the authors show that less the 1% of the population (the mean share of people living in LTCFs in the country mentioned in the report) generated 41% of COVID-19 related deaths. COVID-19 disproportionately affected people living in LTCF, which showed their structural limits to manage so critical situation. To concentrate frail people in the same place do not allow a better management of their care needs, but seems to multiply the risk due to frailty itself.
